Planning a Sikkim holiday as a foreign visitor? Nathula Pass cannot be included. Sikkim Tourism's permit checklist lists foreigners as not allowed at Nathula. Use this guide to replace that stop with an eligible plan before booking your taxi.

Start with the holiday you want
Do you want a relaxed Gangtok stay, monastery visits, viewpoints or a permitted mountain excursion? Share those priorities rather than a copied list of restricted attractions. A good itinerary should make the most of places you are allowed to visit.
Ask about Tsomgo Lake through the applicable foreign-tourist protected-area permit process. Keep the trip separate from Nathula and confirm the allowed route. A photo of an attraction in a package does not prove every traveller is eligible to go there.
Confirm permission before confirming hotels and taxis
Ask the team to distinguish entry permission for Sikkim from permissions for specific protected areas. Check the permitted destinations, validity, guide arrangements and document requirements. Do not assume a visa covers every excursion.
Build the taxi plan around approved access
- Send your dates, nationality and pickup point.
- Discuss the hotel base and realistic sightseeing pace.
- Ask which excursions require separate arrangements.
- Request a vehicle suitable for the actual route and luggage.
- Get the final stops, inclusions, total fare and payment terms in writing.
For airport or railway arrivals, agree on a clear meeting point and any delay or waiting charges. For mountain excursions, reconfirm road access before departure. Do not pay based on a promised exception to an entry restriction.
