Plan a mixed-nationality group carefully
Tell the booking team each traveller's nationality at the start. Do not request a single Nathula plan and assume a tour operator can obtain permission for every passenger. Indian visitors must follow the applicable permit process; foreign visitors need a different eligible plan.
Agree on a shared alternative or separate day plans
Discuss a permitted outing the whole group can enjoy. Tsomgo Lake may be considered for foreign visitors through its applicable protected-area permission process. Confirm eligibility, paperwork and guide requirements for the actual group.
If part of the group requests Nathula and others follow another plan, obtain separate written itineraries. Agree on the vehicles, meeting points, hotel return arrangements and contact person for each group. Do not assume one cab booking covers both outings.
Compare the total booking, not a headline fare
- List each day's pickup, destination and final drop.
- Confirm passenger and luggage capacity.
- Separate transport, guide, permit-processing and entry costs.
- Ask what happens if approval is unavailable or the route closes.
- Get the actual cancellation and refund conditions in writing.
A taxi reservation is not a permit approval. Weather and administrative restrictions can affect the agreed trip, so reconfirm access close to departure.
